Meta Ad Account Disabled? How to Appeal and Get Back to Advertising (India)
Your Facebook ad account was disabled or restricted. What the different restrictions mean, how to request a review in Account Quality, what to fix before appealing, and how Indian businesses avoid it happening again.

Few things stop a business faster than logging in to find "Your ad account has been disabled". Ads stop, leads stop, and there's usually no one at Meta to call. The good news is that many restrictions are reversed on review, as long as you understand what was restricted, fix the cause and appeal properly.
First, find out what was restricted
Meta can restrict different things, and the fix depends on which one:
- The ad account: ads stop in that account only.
- Your personal profile's ability to advertise: you can't run ads from any account.
- A Page: ads promoting that Page stop.
- The business portfolio (Business Manager): everything inside can be affected.
Open Account Quality in Meta Business Suite (some accounts now see this under Business Support Home). It shows each asset's status and the policy Meta cites.
Common reasons in India
- Payment problems: failed charges, a card flagged for unusual activity, or a mismatch between the card and business. See Meta ads payment failed in India.
- Policy violations: repeated rejected ads, especially health claims, before-and-after images, income promises, or loans and jobs without the right category. See special ad categories in India.
- Suspicious activity: logins from new devices or countries, a hacked admin profile, or sudden big spend changes.
- Circumventing systems: running ads from a new account after a restriction, or using bought or borrowed accounts.
How to appeal

- 01Fix the cause first. Pause or delete ads that broke policy, clear outstanding payments, secure hacked profiles, and turn on two-factor authentication.
- 02Verify identity and business. Meta may ask for an ID for the profile and business documents like GST registration, a utility bill or incorporation certificate.
- 03Request review from Account Quality. Keep the message short and factual: what happened, what you changed, and why the account is used legitimately.
- 04Wait. Don't create new ad accounts or profiles to get around the restriction; Meta treats that as circumvention and it can make the restriction permanent.
If the review is rejected, Meta sometimes allows further review or contact through support chat, depending on the account. Advertisers with an active spending history can usually reach chat support from the Meta Business Help Centre.
What not to do
- Don't pay "account recovery" services that promise a contact inside Meta. Many are scams, and they'll ask for your login.
- Don't buy aged or "unlimited" ad accounts. They get disabled too, and can take your business portfolio down with them.
- Don't keep appealing the same thing without changing anything.
Prevention

- Verify your business in Business Manager.
- Use two-factor authentication on every admin, and remove old admins and agencies you no longer work with.
- Pay with a card or method in the business's name.
- Make sure the landing page matches the ad and has a privacy policy and contact details.
- Review rejected ads weekly rather than letting rejections pile up.
A periodic check catches most of these early; the Meta ads account audit checklist includes them.
Frequently asked questions
How long does a Meta ad account review take?
It varies. Some reviews finish within a day or two; others take longer. Avoid creating new accounts while you wait.
Can I just create a new ad account?
Not to get around a restriction. Meta treats that as circumventing its systems, which can lead to permanent restrictions on your profile and business.
What documents does Meta accept from Indian businesses?
Typically government ID for the person, and business documents such as GST registration, incorporation certificate, or a utility bill in the business's name. The request in Account Quality says what's needed.
