Diwali and Dhanteras Meta Ads for Jewellery Brands: A 2026 Playbook
Dhanteras falls on 6 November 2026 and Diwali on 8 November. Here is a week-by-week Meta Ads plan for online jewellery brands, including the shipping cut-off most brands forget, from someone running a 12.51x catalogue campaign.

For Indian jewellery brands, the days before Dhanteras and Diwali are some of the most important selling days of the year. They're also some of the most expensive days to advertise, because every jeweller, electronics brand and fashion label is bidding for the same attention.
In 2026, Dhanteras falls on Friday 6 November and Diwali on Sunday 8 November, nearly three weeks later than in 2025 because of the extra lunar month this year. If you sell jewellery online, here's how to plan your Meta Ads so the festive budget turns into sales, not just reach.
Why festive ads need a plan, not just a bigger budget
Most brands simply double their budget in the week before Dhanteras. The problem is that ad costs rise across the market at the same time, so you pay more for the same impressions, aimed at people who may never have heard of you.
The brands that do well over Diwali usually did the groundwork in the weeks before: they built a pool of people who already know them, then sold to that pool when it mattered.
My own data shows why. For the D2C jewellery brand I manage, the best month in 2026 so far wasn't a festival month. April, which included Akshaya Tritiya, came in at 6.13x ROAS. May, the month after, hit 8.32x, turning ₹5.28L of spend into ₹43.95L of revenue. Demand built during a festival keeps converting afterwards, as long as you keep retargeting those shoppers. The 2026 festive timeline

Phase 1: warm up (now to 28 October)
Run prospecting video and Reels showcasing your festive collection. The goal isn't immediate sales. It's to get people to watch, visit your site and browse products, so they enter your retargeting audiences. Use state-wise creative where it matters. I explain why in my guide to regional-language Meta ads in South India.
Phase 2: push (29 October to 3 November)
Turn on your offers. Move a bigger share of budget into catalogue retargeting, which shows each shopper the exact pieces they viewed. This was the brand's top campaign all year, at 12.51x ROAS. Here's how to set up catalogue ads for a Shopify store.
Phase 3: peak (4 to 6 November)
This is where most brands get caught out. If you ship jewellery across India, many orders placed on 5 November won't arrive by Dhanteras. Find your courier's realistic last order date for festive delivery and build your messaging around it:
- Before the cut-off: "Order by [date] for delivery before Dhanteras."
- After the cut-off: switch to store pickup if you have stores, express delivery in the cities you can reach, gift cards, digital gold, or "book your piece now on Dhanteras, delivered after Diwali".
Ads that promise Dhanteras delivery when it's no longer possible lead to angry customers and cancellations.
Phase 4: wedding season (7 November onwards)
The wedding season follows soon after Diwali. Shift your creative to bridal and gifting, and retarget everyone who browsed during the festival but didn't buy. These people are already interested. Many are now shopping for weddings.
Creative angles that work for jewellery during Diwali

- 01Trust. Jewellery is expensive and bought online with some anxiety. Show BIS hallmarking and HUID, certificates, your exchange or buyback policy, and real customer photos in the first few seconds.
- 02Value. With gold prices high, a lot of buyers are looking for lightweight pieces. Lead with accessible price points rather than only showpiece sets.
- 03Gifting. Organise by budget and recipient: under ₹10,000, under ₹25,000, gifts for her, gifts for mom. It removes decision fatigue.
- 04The Dhanteras ritual. Many families buy something small but auspicious on Dhanteras: a coin, a small chain, a pair of earrings. Make that easy to find and quick to buy.
- 05Urgency, honestly. Real delivery deadlines and stock limits work. Fake countdown timers erode trust.
Budget and bidding tips
- Raise budgets gradually. Large overnight jumps can unsettle delivery. Increase in steps through the push phase.
- Protect your retargeting budget. When costs rise, prospecting gets expensive first. Make sure your catalogue retargeting campaign is never budget-limited during the peak.
- Watch frequency. Your warmest audiences are small, and during the festival they'll see your ads a lot. Rotate fresh creative. Here's how to read Meta Ads frequency.
- Know your break-even ROAS. Festive discounts eat margin. Work out the minimum ROAS that still makes money at your festive prices. My break-even ROAS guide for Indian D2C brands shows how, including GST and returns.
After Diwali: don't switch off
The biggest waste is turning ads off on 9 November. You've just paid to build the biggest warm audience of your year. Keep retargeting with wedding season and gifting creative, and keep prospecting at a lower level so the pool doesn't dry up before the next festival.
For many jewellers, the wedding season follows straight on. Here's how to plan for it: Meta ads for bridal jewellery.
Frequently asked questions
When is Dhanteras in 2026?
Dhanteras is on Friday 6 November 2026, and Diwali (Lakshmi Puja) is on Sunday 8 November 2026, according to most Indian calendars. Puja timings vary by city.
When should jewellery brands start Diwali ads?
At least two to three weeks before Dhanteras for prospecting and audience-building, with offers going live about a week before. Plan your peak around your courier's last delivery date, not the festival day itself.
Which Meta campaign works best for jewellery during festivals?
For the brand I manage, catalogue retargeting, which shows shoppers the exact products they viewed, was the top campaign at 12.51x ROAS. It needs a steady flow of new visitors from prospecting campaigns to keep working.
