Meta Ads Cost in India (2026): Real CPM, Cost per Lead and Cost per Sale
What Facebook and Instagram ads really cost in India in 2026, with real CPMs, cost per lead and cost per booking from live accounts, plus how much budget you need to start.

Search "Meta ads cost in India" and you will find ranges so wide they are useless: CPMs anywhere from ₹8 to ₹250, cost per lead from ₹150 to ₹2,000.
This guide does something different. Alongside the published 2026 benchmarks, it shows what ads actually cost in two live accounts I managed this year: a resort in Munnar and a D2C jewellery brand. Real spend, real results.
The quick answer
In 2026, for most Indian businesses:
- CPM (cost per 1,000 impressions): roughly ₹60–₹250 in competitive niches, lower for broad consumer audiences
- CPC (cost per click): roughly ₹4–₹50
- Cost per lead: typically ₹150–₹2,000, depending on industry and how qualified the lead is
- Instagram Reels usually runs 20–35% cheaper per impression than Facebook Feed
But what you pay per impression matters far less than what you pay per customer. That is where real accounts tell a better story.
Real numbers: a resort in Munnar
Here are five months of Meta Ads spend for a nature resort in Kerala (March–July 2026):
- March: ₹1.87L spend · 41.7 lakh impressions · ₹44.75 CPM
- April: ₹3.16L spend · 43.9 lakh impressions · ₹72.00 CPM
- May: ₹4.21L spend · 61.4 lakh impressions · ₹68.59 CPM
- June: ₹3.78L spend · 48.2 lakh impressions · ₹78.47 CPM
- July: ₹2.78L spend · 30.5 lakh impressions · ₹91.15 CPM
Totals: ₹15.80L spend, about 2.26 crore impressions and an average CPM of ₹70.

Across Meta and Google for the whole of 2026 so far (₹28.43L of spend), that works out to:
- ₹45 per lead
- ₹6,277 per confirmed booking attributed to ads
- 5.9x return in the best month (October): ₹3.08L of spend, ₹18.07L of bookings in the resort's own CRM
Notice that CPM doubled from March to July as competition rose. Returns stayed healthy anyway, because the funnel and the follow-up did the work. Read how that resort funnel was built.
Real numbers: a D2C jewellery brand
For an ecommerce brand the useful number is not cost per lead but return on spend. Over eight months:
- ₹52.43L total ad spend, roughly ₹5–8L a month
- ₹364.68L in Shopify revenue
- 12.51x ROAS on the top campaign and 8.32x in the best month, with every month above 5x
More on that account in what a good ROAS looks like for jewellery brands.

What actually drives your cost
1. Your industry
Finance, real estate and B2B pay the most per impression because their customers are worth the most. Ecommerce, travel and education usually pay less per click.
2. Your audience size and competition
Narrow audiences and peak seasons (festivals, holidays, long weekends) push CPMs up. The resort's CPM rose from ₹45 to ₹91 between March and July for exactly this reason.
3. Your creative
Meta rewards ads people engage with. Strong creative lowers your CPM and your CPC, while a weak ad pays a premium for every impression. Keep an eye on ad frequency to spot creative wearing out.
4. Your placement
Reels inventory is generally cheaper than Facebook Feed. Let Meta use Advantage+ placements unless you have a clear reason not to.
5. What happens after the click
This is the one most businesses ignore. A slow website, a confusing form or a two-day reply time can triple your real cost per customer, even when your CPM is great. If leads arrive but nothing sells, start with these fixes.
Don't forget GST
Meta charges 18% GST on ad spend for Indian advertisers. If you budget ₹50,000 for ads, expect an invoice of about ₹59,000. Registered businesses can usually claim it back as input tax credit. Here's how to add your GSTIN and claim that GST back.
How much budget do you need to start?
A practical starting point for most Indian businesses:
- ₹500–₹1,000 a day for a local business testing lead generation
- ₹1,500–₹3,000 a day for an ecommerce brand that wants enough data to optimise purchases
- ₹3,000+ a day to run a full funnel (prospecting plus retargeting) properly
Smaller budgets can work, but campaigns need enough conversions each week for Meta's algorithm to learn. Spread too thin, they never exit the learning phase. Here's how to handle Learning Limited on a small budget.
The metric to watch instead of CPM
Stop asking "how much is a click?" and start asking "how much does a customer cost, and what is that customer worth?"
- 01Track cost per lead, then cost per sale or booking.
- 02Compare that with your average order or booking value.
- 03Calculate ROAS from your own records: CRM, Shopify or bank deposits, not just Meta's dashboard.
A ₹90 CPM that returns 3x on spend is a far better deal than a ₹30 CPM that produces nothing.
